“ I last reviewed this spot back in 2018, and after over six years and more than 30 visits, it's safe to say our family can't get enough. Their poke is authentic Hawaiian and consistently amazing. Our go-to family order is the Dynamite Tuna Poke, Salmon Poke, and Hawaii-Style Tuna Poke. Personally, I stick to the dynamite tuna and salmon, but I lean more toward the salmon--it's my favorite, especially with some spicy sauce on top. I just prefer salmon over tuna in general. The Hamachi Poke is also excellent, but it's a bit pricier, and I'd still pick salmon over that any day. We generally don't eat here and instead order two pounds of poke to take home and eat. We make our own sushi rice, which pairs perfectly with it. With friends, I tried their poke bowl once, and it really gives off authentic Hawaiian vibes. I also sometimes buy their spicy mayo for extra sauce--it's way better than the bottled spicy mayo you can get at the store. My friends are big fans of their rolls from the back, especially the Spicy Tuna Roll, which is very solid. For me, though, I usually stick with the poke or their Spicy Tuna Salad. I rarely go for their cooked foods, but I did try the swordfish once because it sounded interesting--it wasn't bad, but I'm just not a big fan of it. Overall, Fish King continues to be a staple for my family and me. Their poke is unmatched, and I'll keep coming back for more! ”

“ Came here because I saw a video on social media! They have good selection of poke right when you enter, there's also a spicy version. Since it was my first time, I asked the guy working there (Saul) on how people usually order. He was very helpful, told me I can get half, or even quarter pound portion! Got 2 at first then I asked for his recommendation and he said definitely Hamachi. Super grateful for that recommendation because Hamachi was definitely the best. For reference I got Dynamite Scallop, Tuna Poke, and Hamachi. I'm giving it 4/5 because although tuna was supposedly rated #1 it didn't hit my expectations. Will definitely come back to try the other selection. Oh and after you order poke, you can also order side of rice that also have different sizes! I got the small rice which I think was about $2.50. Parking was also good, was able to park right in front but seemed like they have a lot on the side. ”

“ I have seriously been missing out on the amazing poke at Fish King! Easily the second best poke in LA, right behind Jus Poke in Redondo Beach Poke is cut into thick cubes, marinated so well without being salty or having one flavor overpower another. The fish is fresh and lean and delicious! The tuna roll is delicious. The tuna is cut so big and again fresh and tasty! And everything is so well priced, the roll was $10 and the poke was about $10 too. Well worth it! ”

“ Tried Fish King for the first time and I'm not sure what all the hype is about. No hate, but this place has as great reviews as other Seafood shops so I was expecting high-quality sushi options. The majority of their menu is grilled seafood, which isn't really my cup of tea. My friend said the salmon burrito is the best thing here, but the salmon burrito is made of grilled salmon - not raw salmon. I ended up opting for the poke bowl which is just under $17. The salmon poke bowl is actually delicious - lots of buttery fresh salmon in a delightful shoyu sauce. It comes with a scoop of imitation crab and seaweed salad. You can also get ginger on the side for free. For the price, the quality was good but the portion was just alright. If I ever come back, I would get their poke again. They have restrooms inside. There's also some tables, but it's pretty limited considering how crowded it gets on the weekends. Parking is street parking only, but street parking is free. Workers here are pretty friendly. Expect to pay about $15-20 per person! ”

“ Great neighborhood seafood market, I came here for lunch craving fresh oysters. Their selection was more than I expected and they do shuck the oysters for you if you want to eat them there for a charge of seventy-five cents per oyster, it can add up but when my craving hits I'm willing to pay. Service is fast and top notch, as I ordered other food they brought my shucked oysters tableside to me with lemons! I also ordered a lobster bisque that was amazing and came with little crackers. If you enjoy Trader Joe's lobster bisque this one would be right up your alley, piping hot you need to wait a minute or you'd burn your mouth. I ordered poke bowl from here as well and my seafood craving was appeased. Well seasoned I would say there are more authentic hawaiian style poke elsewhere but all you can ask for is freshness of fish and this place delivers. Plenty of free parking curbside right out front. ”

“ This is an old school seafood market with beautiful fresh fish, dry goods, and a restaurant (order at the counter, no servers). Take a number from the very old school ticket machine on the seafood counter when you walk in and patiently wait for your number to be called. There is nothing fancy about this place. It's an old building and an old business and it doesn't try to be anything but what it is. That can be refreshing. They have all types of seafood but we were on a mission for fresh poke. I think they offered about six different types, including several spicy ones (labeled "dynamite "). We tried three types of poke, one of which was nice and spicy. I loved two of them and the other one was just sort of flavorless. For you non-seafood lovers, they do offer a few things like a teriyaki chicken bowl which is excellent. You get a ton of freshly-cooked chicken over rice. Plenty of free street parking all around. There's definitely an Asian-bent to the products they sell here and I'm here for it. Highly recommend. ”

“ My wife hasn't have New England clam chowder since Souplanation closed all their restaurants. I found Fish King two blocks north of where my wife works in Glendale. I ordered a bowl of New England clam chowder and two grilled fish tacos for her and a halibut sandwich for me. I got there 30 minutes before closing time (7:00 PM). The place was busy. It's a combination of a fish market and restaurant. There were a lot of patrons enjoying their food at tables on both sides of the store/restaurant. Twenty minutes, my order was ready. I drove 5 minutes to her work. We decided to eat in the car to avoid the traffic going home. The clam chowder was rich and creamy. Her grilled fish tacos were OK. My halibut sandwich was excellent. The halibut was cooked to perfection. It was placed in a soft French roll. I asked for no tomatoes and tartar sauce. It came with a spear pickle. I enjoyed my sandwich a lot.
